Submissions
Welcome to Pagan Writers Press and thank you for your interest in submitting your work to us!
We are a small publishing company based out of Houston, Texas with a focus on providing a great and diverse selection of books from our wonderful authors. We are currently accepting proposals for our 2012 and 2013 lineup.
Pagan Writers Press is interested in proposals for completed works in the following genres:
- Nonfiction
- Romance/Erotica
- Young Adult
- Mystery / Suspense
- Science Fiction / Fantasy
Submissions Requirements
At this time, Pagan Writers Press only accepts electronic submissions. Please take a moment to read all of the requirements carefully before sending your submission via email to angie@paganwriters.com. Failure to follow these instructions will result in having your submission rejected.
Please submit a query letter in the body of your email. Include the following information in both your query letter and on the cover page of your submission:
- Real Name
- Pen Name (if different)
- Email Address
- Title / Working Title
- Series Name (if applicable)
- Genre (from list above)
- Word Count
- Blurb (less than 200 words)
Attach to your email a full synopsis of the book (about 2 pages, including table of contents for nonfiction works) and three sample chapters. Files should be in either .doc or .rtf format and their names should include both title and your name.
Please make sure that your submission is double-spaced and in a readable font, such as Times New Roman or Arial. Please refrain from using any fancy fonts, as this can make it difficult to read, and not all Word processing programs can load certain fonts. Remember to include a cover page with your contact information, the title of the book, and the word count.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, granted we are notified at the time of submission. Previously published works will not be accepted at this time. If you have ever shared this work on the internet via forums or writer’s websites, we request that you let us know.
Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for us to review your submission.
About Us
Pagan Writers Press is a new publisher on the block, but many of our editors have been in the business for many years. We take our jobs very seriously and aim to provide the best product possible for our customer. We also want to establish relationships with our authors that are both rewarding and beneficial.
We are NOT a vanity press and do not require any type of money from our authors to publish their works. All we ask for is a completed manuscript that has been edited to the best of the author’s ability. Each book is assigned to an editor who works with them to polish and prepare their manuscript for publishing. Pagan Writers Press provides the editing, typesetting, and cover art services that are necessary for each book.
We pay royalties to our authors four times a year (each quarter). The standard royalty rate for print books is 40% of the sale price (from our website or distributors) and 50% of the sale price for ebooks. This is the standard for one-author works and may vary. At this time, we do not offer advance payments.
